Sengoku Go-Mai Taisho Yoroi

Sengoku Go-Mai Yoroi, another beautiful Taisho class Gendai (modern) samurai armor set specially crafted by the Iron Mountain Armory after an original piece. This Go-Mai Do (5 section cuirass) features four hinges which join the 5 sections of plating, creating one of the most evolved forms of samurai armor produced during the Sengoku Era (Warring State Period). This style of samurai cuirass is based on a “yokohagi-okegawa” Do design which features ito-mono plating.   It was a popular style of armor because it offered many different options that would change the appearance. This style of armor is very durable, robust, easy to repair or modify as needed and very comfortable to wear. Traditionally crafted and worn without sode (shoulder shields), however IMA includes a matching set.

This Sengoku Go-Mai Yoroi was researched and carefully handcrafted by the most senior katchu-shi (Japanese armorer) at the Iron Mountain Armory. It is pictured here with an Etchu Zunari Kabuto with Mayu (Simulated eyebrows), however, our fine samurai armor smiths will be happy to craft your preferred style of kabuto as well as custom size and color the full armor set for you.
