Description
Juban Shitagi is a traditional Japanese shirt, worn under kimono, as a casual shirt, under shirt or pajama top. Traditionally the juban shitagi would be worn under the kimono to help keep the samurai cool and to prevent their sweat from damaging the outer kimono top they wear. In home samurai would often wear this traditional under shirt as a casual shirt, while lounging in their home or while they sleep. Today, modern warriors may wear juban shitagi with narrow sleeves, under their Iaido Gi, Kendo Gi or as a light training Gi top. They also make for a traditional casual top, great for hot, humid summer nights. These traditional juban shitagi are perfect for anyone wanting a traditional samurai under shirt for training, cosplay, re-enactment or for a casual traditional fashion.
Iron Mountain Armory uses fine medium cotton for maximum quality, comfort and durability. Traditional cut juban come down to your hip area (20cm below waist). However if you would like a longer length, you can select “Custom Size” and have your traditional shitagi made custom for you. Commonly worn under a Traditional Hakama-Shita.
Our samurai clothing and accessories are featured in many movies, tv series, documentaries, including the docudrama “Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan” by Netflix & the Smithsonian Channel.

Liked the quality but the length of the arms and wideness were incorrectly sent based of the receipt, because the order took two months to deliver returning seemed inconvenient, for some reason this review doesn’t have the option comment on the other shintagi I ordered but it also had the same issue. The print came out nice but there was no way to know what it would look like in the store, example pictures would have been appreciated to show what the different placement options would have looked like
Ordered narrow sleeve style, it was made incorrectly, sleeves looked like it was the wider sleeves just sewn partially inward toward the armpit in an attempt to make the narrow sleeve style I ordered.
Great quality stuff here! As an inner garment, it matches my vermilion red armor quite nicely!
For some reason the fabric was to rough to wear without a undershirt.
