Description
Hachi-gané (armored headband) are high quality, functional armored headbands, reproduced after original designs from the Sengoku Era (Warring States). It features 3 karute-gane (square armor plates) linked with kusari (chain-links) and a double layered hachimaki (headband) with a thin layer of padding, for maximum protection and comfort. We offer you the option to customize the armor and material color as well as adding the clan mon of your choice or your own symbol / logo to the center plate of the hachigane armored headband. This mon will be engraved from brass and fixed to your samurai armored headband for a small extra fee. If you have any questions please contact us.
History: The Hachigane hachimaki was a small piece of flexible, or portable armor for protecting the forehead. It was used by both samurai and possibly shinobi (ninja). It’s main use was to protect the warrior from cuts to the forehead. Samurai would often use this armor while in combat, dueling, travelling or during semi-formal occasions. Hachigane became a sign of status, as well as light armor protection, especially during a duel.
