Original price was: $6.99.Current price is: $4.95. $4.95

Bracket / Holder for maedate (crests) which adorn kabuto (samurai helmet) have several names, such as tsuru no kubi, tsunomoto, and sashimono dome no ana.  Each unique to the style of crest and/or haraidate da (bracket / holder on the kabuto).  As many kabuto (samurai helmet) feature an L bracket style haraidate, the U-bracket (Option #1) is often the most common.  The u-bracket is typical to the smaller maedate that sits directly over the front of the kabuto.  Where as the tsuru no kubi (crane’s neck) or Option #2 also attached to the L-bracket post but is commonly used for maedate that are taller and may reach up over the front of the kabuto (like our dragon maedate). As the name suggest it is longer like the neck of a crane.  The tsuru no kubi is also available with a flat base for a tube like receivers as seen in Option #3.

Weather working on an original or reproduction samurai helmet, these brackets are great for DIY (Do It Yourself) make your own or restoration.  Keep in mind that there are several styles of bracket / holders for oharaidate which can vary slightly or greatly.  The adapters we offer here are the most common and universal to most reproduction and antique kabuto.  All brackets are crafted from brass and include the basic wood screws for attaching to your wooden maedate.  The brass is malleable and can be reformed and adjusted to better fit your crest and/or post. Does not include mounting materials for brass maedate.  If you have any questions or need a special customized bracket, please contact us before ordering.
