Description

This Momonari Gashira Kabuto is in stock and ready to ship as seen (without menpo).  Finished in Black Suna with Crimson Suna accent plating.  Matching menpo and other armor parts are available here. Comes with display stand.

The Momonari Gashira Kabuto (peach-shaped helmet) is inspired by European helmets during the Momoyama Period (1575 – 1615). The katchû-shi (armor craftsmen) crafted this Gashira Class Momonari Kabuto with raised byo (rivets). This style of European kabuto was designed specifically to deflect the bullets from the new muskets appearing on the battlefield. These new weapons were first brought to Japan by the Portuguese and Spanish and later became an important part of modern military strategy.

The Momonari Gashira Kabuto became well known for its abilities on the battlefield during the Campaign of Korea (1592-98) on Kyushu Island. This is a stock item, ready to ship and can not be modified. It includes the kabuto (helmet), maedate (crest) and portable stand.  The menpo  (facial armor mask) is NOT included.  Please select from one of the available in stock menpo (click here) for a matching menpo. No customization is available.
