Kumi-Gashira Samurai Armor

Kumi-Gashira were mid ranking samurai (Lieutenant) who would dictate the orders of their Taisho (general) to his troops and move them as if by the hand of his lord.  The Kumi-Gashira samurai armor set features the classic and modern perspectives of the samurai armor set, so the Kumi-Gashira samurai could stand out on the battle field while among their troops.   The suit features a Hari Bachi Kabuto which was the classical style kabuto (samurai helmet) of the mid-sengoku (waring state) era mixed with the tosei (post 1540 modern) samurai armor set.  The Yokohagi Okegawa Do (horizontal plated tub-sided cuirass) became popular during the end of the warrior state era because it’s effective protection against Tanegashima Teppó (matchlock rifle).

This samurai yoroi set is shown with PRE-SELECTED customized options, featuring Gashira Class hari-bachi kabuto (helmet) with large fukigaeshi, a Yokohagi Okegawa Do, as well as kiritsuke iyozane (simulated scale) on the sode (shoulder guard) and kusazari (defensive skirt plating).  It also features optional fukurin, which is a copper edging along the outer edge plating.  All were common features of a quality tosei yoroi crafted in the early 16th century Japan. All selected options are PRE-SELECTED to match the vermilion and black Kumi-Gashira Samurai Armor set as shown in the main pictures.  We’ve included additional pictures showing different options.  Changing the mon (family crest) in the options will change all the mons shown on the armor set and included yoroi bitsu (armor box).  If you would like the mon to be left off from a particular part of the armor set, please mention it in the Order Notes on the final checkout page.
