They are ankle-high and come with a separation between the big toe and the other toes. They are traditionally worn with waraji (straw sandals), zori (flat sandals), geta (platform clogs), and other traditional thonged footwear. They are an essential with traditional clothing like kimonos and other wafuku. They were also worn by samurai during the Feudal Era.

Material is more of a “dress sock” style than “american cotton sock”, which might snag and tear easier than something in a thicker material. One-size-fits-all fits me, so no complaints on that.
