Description

This Kachi Class samurai armor has been crafted by our apprentice katchû-shi  (Japanese armor smith) in honor of Yamamoto Kansuke  (山本 勘助, 1501 – 1561 A.D.). Kansuke was a Taisho samurai of the Sengoku Period who was known as one of the “Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda Shingen“.  A very loyal and remarkable strategist, he is remembered for his victorious  strategy in the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima against their rival, Uesugi Kenshin.  Takeda and Kenshi would fight 5 battles with the 4th being a decisive victory for Takeda which Kansuke would be credited for.

Unfortunately, Kansuke never lived to see this triumph. Thinking his plan would be unsuccessful and at risk of failing his lord, he charged headlong into the enemy ranks – dying a glorious warrior’s death while securing the Takeda victory. Much like Kansukes own armor, our armor smiths have crafted this yoroi set with a hachi zunari kabuto (helmet) and okegawa Do (chest armor).

The kabuto is adorned with natural water buffalo horns to personify his exceptional prowess on the battlefield.  His steadfast devotion and fearlessness when charging into battle will live on forever in the heart of whoever wears this suit. This is one of our most popular samurai armor sets. When you have it displayed in your home or are wearing it, you will know why!  Also available in Gashira and Taisho Class.

Features: Kachi Class.

  • Variation of paint, nylon odoshi colors and features.
  • Full sized and fully functional.
Our skilled katchû-shi (armorers) at the Iron Mountain Armory will need at least 3 to 5 weeks, depending on options selected, and other scheduled orders, for the custom handcrafting of your yoroi.

To see the class differences, please view Kachi Vs. Gashira.

  1. I ordered the Kachi (low end) model. I really wasn’t expecting too much but I was pleasantly surprised about the finished quality. I am kind of wishing I upgraded to the next model up to get the little extras now, but I really can’t complain. For the price I paid I am very happy with the armor and the service I received.

  3. I wear this often. Fits like a glove and I give this site’s info out like crazy at events. Everyone wants their picture taken with me, wifey was pissed when I bought it but got over it quick and loves the attention it brings. Looks boss in the war room at our new house too.
I’ve worn it at Renaissance fairs, events at the Worcester art museum, random events and costume parties at local venues.

  4. I love this armor set. It is absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations, even after reading the other reviews. There are usually always one or two star reviews for products from less than satisfied clients, but honestly I can see why everyone gives 5 stars. Between the quality of armor and level of customer service it is an easy 5 star rating for me!

  5. I am in love with my suit. The horns are real and the entire suit simply looks amazing. I am so very happy with my purchase and experience with the customer service.
